PIERFRANCESCO ROS TRAVELS
First travels… experiences of the architect Pierfrancesco Ros
It all started with a three-month trip to India in 1992 and since then I have been on the path of trying to increasingly integrate the principles that I have found in various acquaintances.
I know that I will not be able to convey to you how many emotions I have experienced ….. made of sadness and joy, but it is enough for me to tell you that this trip changed my perspective of the world and …. of myself …..
I have experienced several initiations and met several Masters on the path … and like a St. Thomas I wanted to feel on my skin all those concepts and words that I had devoured in so many books …… that still remained words ….
Analyzing Indian temples and its principles, I discovered and learned Vastu, an ancient Indian discipline that has many connections with Feng Shui.
I arrived in Auroville, a “laboratory city”, a decisive meeting to feel that I could also find in modern architecture those archetypal principles that have made so many great Works of the past “vibrate”.
……and here I heard about Feng Shui for the first time…..
Back in Italy I met a Japanese Master Y. Yairo and for 9 years I increasingly integrated those principles, both on the physical-mind level and on architectural spaces.
Later I visited the slopes of Tibet, staying in numerous Gompas (monasteries) to feel and see the origins of the School of Form …. and the numerous rituals of the Bon tradition so closely linked to the Intuitive School of Feng Shui.
I also toured all of Europe in its main cities between museums and cathedrals in search of the same principles …. rediscovering that we Westerners have also used and integrated them into our knowledge and architecture ….
I compared myself with the major exponents of Feng Shui in London to see what the state of the art is in Europe, continuing through England and Scotland I analyzed the different monolithic sites finding different points of interest. Then after trips to China and especially Hong Kong I understood that I had arrived at the beginning of this immense study …
and so …. I became more and more passionate about merging Feng Shui and all the knowledge so far proven in Architecture …. researching the practical and technical aspect …. coining Holistic Architecture.
