BIOARCHITECTURE SWITZERLAND AUSTRIA
With M° Ros and Parancola
It was a trip full of contacts, information and experiences
It was interesting to see the residential complex with heat recovery designed by Studio Baumschlager-Eberle at Achselpark in St. Gallen
We then went to Switzerland and then to the border with Italy in the Valle Lunga at Passo Resia, and here we visited a building built entirely of straw
The owner of the house, Mr. Richard Fliri, introduced us to visit the entire house.
It was incredible to see that the entire structure has no part in steel or reinforced concrete, but is completely made of straw, lime and clay. See the photo on the side which shows the straw insulation.
The house cost the same as a traditional house, except that this one has walls over a meter high, which means a very high sealing coefficient.
The heating even in winter is minimal, and the internal climate is healthy and homogeneous.
This makes us think about how all this research into new technologies takes its time, instead we should look more carefully at the simplest and oldest solutions while maintaining a technological and innovative look.
There is also a pyramid light well, each window is double-chambered
Even the drainpipes were made of wood. Even the roof tiles were made of wooden shingles
The only flaw is humidity but solved excellently with a floating system
And we are ready to set off again for a new frontier
